Icon Life impacting things from seemingly mundane happeneings....

I don't know about others when it comes to later aging, but one thing I really like is still being able to encounter happenings that have a large impact and how at the time don't really stand out.

For example, I recently saw an interview of John Mellencamp by Bob Costas from the early 80s and in it, Mellencamp spoke of the practice of how so many people are willing to spend a lot of time on things they don't like (discussing, watching, listening, bitching, thinking) rather than the things they like. He also encouraged people to focus much sharper on those things liked.  This practice has really resonated with me these past few months in trying to do just that.

A second example was a link to a five-minute video clip sent to me by a wise friend of Ta-Nehisi Coates discussing the perceived ownership of words.  It was mostly about the word "bitch" but in this short clip, his entire concept actually covers almost all things in American society and was such an eye opener.

Lastly, when I brought up my early negative experience with edibles, Kevin G provided much-needed insight (find that right strain and dosage), and, man, was he right.  I have found my magic kingdom and music sounds so goooooood with these things (on top of that, I get great discounts with my local dispensary).
