In his four years as president, he turned the United States into a cheerleader for fascism and exposed the throat of the country to those that wanted to cut it...intentionally. The world changed drastically in his four years because Trump destroyed alliances with countries that needed to work together to keep the world a safe place.
That Trump would do this was expected. What was not expected was that the Republican party would so willingly and enthusiastically go along. We now have been given the full view of what happens when the United States is pulled out of the equation of backing our allies and keeping the world a stable place. What should scare the living shit out of us is it took only a single presidency to do it. That you could bring down the United States and our alliances we had for 70 years or more in just the first couple years of a president's first and only term is terrifying.
Putin knew that if he could get elected Trump would deliver on bringing chaos to the world. I think what most sane people underestimated was it could happen so quickly. Putin's people openly touted Trump as the chaos president before he was elected. There was no secret as to what was being attempted.
There was no surprise attack. Trump himself telegraphs all of his moves. Trump's minions like Bannon or Stone say exactly what they intend to do. Bannon openly stated he wanted to burn the United States to the ground and entered the White House with a plan to do that. He wrote it all on a white board the day he first set foot in the building. It is also no big secret that Bannon appears to work for China and that is where his alliances lie.
Sure, Trump gets all kinds of mentions as the front man but really, we could not end up in such a f-ed up place unless the Republican party decided it wanted to go in this direction. That needed to happen for all the other dominos to fall.
They are all in it seems and won't stand up to the threats from within their own party. I think most of the country believes this is going to end when Trump goes away, the problem is Trump is not the mastermind here and they could have stopped him and ended this. It is now the party driving it, not Trump.
They can still use Trump as a front man, have him say a bunch of horrible stuff but the party are executing the plan now. They are carrying it out. Trump is just a cheerleader.
Biden and the Democrats can't fix this. When you are going to destroy a country it has to be an inside job. The Republicans are the insiders and they will betray the country as long as they see it as a path to power. They will dump our long standing allies and align with China and Russia. This is what they want to do. It will turn the entire planet upside down if they get it done.
