I am really dismayed about the future of rock and roll.  Not that it will ever go away, but how homogenized and diluted the genre has become.

It really irks me when obvious non-rock and rollers deem themselves rock and rollers.  It is like the bastardization of rock and roll. I guess what I want is a more pure genre and for a limitation to those identified as rock and rollers.

It just really pisses me off how these new Johnny Come Lately's claim to be rock and rollers when they obviously aren't qualified to carry the water of true rock and rollers.   Shit, just look at the latest Shammy's (that haven't been relevant for years).

I have not read it yet, but in the new New Yorker there is an article on the melding of music genres and how they are almost becoming less defined or necessary.

Hell, Rolling Stone is not even what it once was and is now a hollow shell of itself.

And, fuck, don't even get me started on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  I'm so disappointed in the true and genuine rock and rollers that do not call out those that sit on the board of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  It's only rare that genuine rock and roll people with the pedigree of rock and roll that call out the shit that board comes up with and it pisses me off that people like Springsteen and those of his caliber do not call them out.

Though I am not a Motley Crue fan, for people like Madonna and Whitney Houston to be members and not them is ridiculous.  Or how about Joe Cocker, Pat Benatar and the Go Go's, and the many, many others that do deserve to be in there.

Shit, Whitney Houston was admitted on the first year of eligibility but John Mellencamp was not.  That is how fucked up that board has become.
