Thanks, E. My brother and I will miss our dad. We had a great relationship with him. I am thankful to have had him around for the nearly 54 years I have been alive. That was a lot of time I got to spend with him and a lot of interesting talks. I still have not quite adjusted to him being gone, I'll have these thoughts about bringing something to him or I should talk to him about something and then I realize...oh, he's not there anymore.

My mother is telling me he is already haunting the house. My niece lost her hat over there and it was a favorite hat of hers so when she could not find it she threw a tantrum as 4 year olds will do, and they searched the house high and low trying to find it. A week went by and Tabitha, my niece kept calling my mother asking about the hat. My mother called me asking if Julia had taken the hat by accident. I told her we did not have it.

Tabitha was coming back over to see my mother on the weekend and my mom was concerned that she would ask about the hat so began another search. Now, 5 people had searched all around looking for this damn hat. It was nowhere to be found. Ten minutes before Tabitha shows up my mother walks by the chair my dad always sat in in the big living room and there is the hat, nicely folded, right on the seat of the chair...where she had sat, my brother had sat, and everyone had searched 20 times, and it is there in the open as if it was just placed there.
