1) Don't move too quickly on some more contentious legislation even with control of both houses.
Basically, the problem I see in terms of not moving quickly is they only have two years to do things before the next election brings a potential shift. So, the last thing I would say is not to move quickly. If ever an administration needed to hit the ground running it is this one. Also elected Republicans have earned, in a big way, being shown no mercy when it comes to legislation and fixing what they destroyed. None.
2) Listen to them. Don't necessarily agree or fall in line, but make a show of listening.
This is fine but I'm not sure how much good will it buys from Trump supporters.
3) Don't raise taxes so quickly as to choke off an economic recovery from COVID. That may mean setting some goals to the side for a while.
I would cut taxes for the middle and lower class as much as possible. Also big tax breaks for small business. The tax rate for the wealthiest Americans needs to be returned to 74% ASAP. This would return it to the level it was at when Nixon was president I believe. Also closing all of the insane tax loopholes that have been tossed to the biggest companies should be rapidly if incrementally removed. If you want to spread that out over years, fine.
4) Ramp down the identity politics. Seriously.
Well, this is fine. I mean, it should be addressed that Trump promoted a rise in racism and racist politics and how this cost people their lives but we should ramp down the rhetoric.
The big thing that I see missing from this list though is holding the people responsible for all of the destruction Trump doled out accountable for their actions.
The riot we saw in DC yesterday was not an accident...it was encouraged and promoted and applauded by a rather rotten bunch of criminal elected Republicans.
If we keep letting them get away with it and we don't address those that help fund this kind of mayhem, it will occur again.
