Redfield was spectacularly unsuited to his role, something immediately obvious when seeing him in the spring coronavirus daily briefings.   Low energy, no wit, no fire . . . just the wrong man for that job.  For not really and vigorously standing up to Trump (publicly, if necessary) he bears just as much of the blame.  Unlike Trump, it is literally Redfield's job to make sure the CDC gets it right.  He will be out of a job almost as soon as a new administration takes over . . . after we vote out Herr Gropenfuhrer.
