Yes, starting another civil war in the US has been an idea that's been around for a long time. Mick's correct in that we've never been closer to that actually happening than right now...because we've never had a president like Trump that actually pushed us toward another one. I know Biden will be reaching out to repair relations with our allies, that I am confident of, but do I think we are in the clear if he is elected in terms of this country exploding into violence? No, I do not. Trump will push for chaos if he loses. He will pump out messages of madness and violence and there is a percentage of the population that will embrace his messages. This does not go away if he loses and probably the months following the election if Biden wins will be a very dangerous time.
