I have heard about the podcast Song Exploder and Netflix has created a series based on the Podcast.  I just watched the one about R.E.M's song Losing My Religion.

I've followed R.E.M. for decades and until hearing Michael Stipe's voice isolated in this song for this segment, I've never appreciated his voice as much until hearing his voice along (it was interesting watching him listen to his singing because I have read where he is one of those people that sees symbols when he sings/hears).

The other part was not only how all of the members have aged, but especially how much their drummer Bill Berry has aged.  He was looking really, really rough.  It makes me wonder if he is a heavy smoker and drinker. 

I don't know about anyone else, but it really is a struggle when you are a passionate music lover and all of your life-long followed musicians are aging and you know there are many fewer days left than what is in the past. 

That is why I hope all the greats keep putting out music as long as they can.

Ps....did anyone else see Willie Nelson on this year's Farm Aid?  You could tell his breathing was labored.  Broke my heart.
