So, there is of course a reason for Trump and Republicans to not want mail-in voting and this is quite simple, according to history far more Democrats vote by mail than Republicans. Essentially the number of Democrats that vote by mail tends to be more than twice the number of Republicans that do so. This year the number of people that will vote by mail will likely more than double on both sides, Democrats and Republicans both want to vote by mail in far larger numbers this year. 

Here's the issue with mail-in voting...the votes take longer to count. This means that on election night we won't know who won and the numbers on election night probably will not even be close to the actual outcome.

This is precisely why Trump has talked up the fact that we won't know who won the day after the election. This is absolutely going to be true this year because the vote tally is likely to take a week, maybe a bit more. 

This presents a scenario where the day after the election it could look like one candidate has won according to voting machine tallies but a week later once mail-in ballots are counted...the outcome could be the complete reverse of what it looked like the day after the election. This will likely be a big factor in states like Florida and other potential swing states. 

Trump has been prepping to create total mayhem in this scenario, saying things like if he does not win this election was rigged...a statement that was an intentional attempt to undermine an US election, from the president of our country no less.

It very well may look like Trump has won several states the day after the election, like Florida, when in fact he has not. Count on him and his minions to go insane when this happens and count on him to unleash the most heinous and toxic eruption of propaganda this country has ever seen. Also we know that he will unleash a flood of legal challenges meant to both slow and hinder the counting of votes as well as to create a smokescreen that blinds the public to what is happening and attempts to raise doubt in the outcome of the election.

The strategy of Trump, Putin, FOX News, and the white supremacists that will assist in the mayhem is to attempt to do all they can to block any attempt to show an outcome to this election so that they can call the outcome false. 

This will not be any kind of normal election and the increase in mail-in voting, while safe and virtually free of the potential of fraud in terms of counting votes, will create a delay in reaching an outcome that Trump is going to manipulate in a lot of really horrible ways.
