This story has been much on my mind, EEE, since I read it and I've had the same thoughts. It sounds like Watergate and every subsequent scandal: what did so and so know, when did he know it, and how did he then act? This should be hugely consequential for so many reasons but don't you have a nagging feeling that this too shall pass? But still, perhaps the there will be a groundswell of outrage, and not just from the vets and organizations like the VFW and American Legion. The first order of business should be an independent investigation in order to obtain all of the relevant facts. Again, we've been down this road so many times before but the implications of this demand immediate attention from all decent Americans. And yes, I realize that means the Republicans will find that they are otherwise occupied with more pressing business like safeguarding statues of traitors, scheming to deny healthcare to millions of Americans, and halting the endless flood of flag burnings which are fouling the air!
