Icon Well...this is all very strange!

It's rare that you feel like you're living through history. 911, the Trump presidency, and now this. And this sure feels especially odd, uncertain, scary. I guess the first world isn't immune from tragedies that so much of the world experiences so frequently. And isn't it dizzying how yesterday seems so distant, and how we have absolutely no idea what the new normal will be tomorrow, next week, in a few weeks. Or are we overreacting? I sense we aren't, but wouldn't we be pleased to have egg on our collective faces.

A close relative just returned yesterday from Africa. She flew to Dubai and then on to Boston, and was never screened for the virus. No temp was taken. I'm relieved that she's returned but how can this happen? And I just heard that someone on that flight died, not sure of the cause, might be unrelated to corona, but who knows.

We're thinking of packing some sandwiches tomorrow and driving to our favorite Maine beach. We'll avoid all contact with others, probably just sit there, looking at the waves, and wondering what it will look like this summer.

This message board has meant a great deal to me and I sense it'll be more important than ever. And Pat, come on back, if only to let us know you're okay. We'll get back to the mud slinging, eye gouging, and atomic wedgies at some point, but not now.
