Well, in a lot of what was said yesterday it was designed to make things very difficult for Sondland today because of all the people to testify so far...this guy was right in the middle of this mess and being told what to do by Trump himself. So, this guy really is a key to the fact that Trump was directing this entire operation.
My feeling is his lawyer should be advising him to just go and tell the truth because there is already way too much known about what he did and said. The open conversation with Trump he had that people heard is already on the record as is the money quote from Sondland about Trump not giving a "shit" about Ukraine and only caring about the investigations that would benefit him politically, the "big things" like that.
He can't really sit there and say he does not recall that and he already was caught lying in his testimony and had to amend it so, he should be pretty motivated to tell the truth here.
This is a guy the Republicans really do not want to speak, primarily because he connects things directly to Trump and also has clearly said what Trump's true motivations were...to try to influence an election illegally.
So, I would expect some fireworks, a whole lot more nonsense from Republicans, and a more brawl like atmosphere than we got yesterday. Will they be able to shutdown his testimony? They will try and the ball is really in Sondland's court. Trump does not want him to speak today.
This will be a weird moment in our history because we've never seen anything like this. Sondland paid a million bucks to get this job from Trump...I don't know if he feels now he got his money's worth but we will today in this hearing perhaps.
I have to say, to me, the Republicans looked defeated and lost yesterday. They look like they know they have lost and are bailing water with teaspoons on the Titanic.
Also as an aside, if they make a movie of this, which they should, Steve Carell has to play that moron Devin Nunes. He reaches new levels of pathetic every time I see him and Carell would nail this idiot.
