I was watching a documentary on the decline of FM radio called "Corporate FM" today and in it a woman was interviewed about how the loss of local control of FM radio led to the deaths of people because news of a hazardous chemical spill could not be provided to radio listeners because local channels were owned by pre-programmed Clear Channel. The woman had signed a contract with Springsteen to include his song My Hometown in a documentary she was making about this incident and after Springsteen realized doing so could possibly hurt an upcoming tour and album sales, he reneged on the allowing of the use of the song in the documentary.
Kind of sad to learn if true.
