So, the open Cohen testimony exposed, with evidence in many cases, up to
14 crimes committed by Donald Trump INCLUDING WHILE HE WAS PRESIDENT.Why did the Republicans want this hearing stopped so badly...because
Cohen was going to show evidence to the public that backed up his
testimony. That was truly ugly for Trump. I think the main crime to focus on, because the evidence was absolutely
devastating, was the bribe payments made by Donald Trump while he was
president. This is entirely outside of any Russia stuff. This is just flat out
bribery conducted by Trump prior to the election and during his time in
office. It is bribery to influence a federal election, it is a violation
of campaign finance law, and it was an ongoing bribery scheme conducted
by the president and his businesses while he sat in the oval office. The Republicans at the hearing remained completely silent about this. He should and absolutely could be impeached on this alone. This requires
nothing from Mueller nor his investigation of Russian interference. This
is a separate and stand alone crime. Cohen showed the dated bribery checks from March and August of 2017
directly from Trump showing Trump not only oversaw but was totally in
charge of the operation to bribe Stormy Daniels and defraud the American
public. Oops. This is why Republicans desperately wanted to stop this open testimony. So, here is the position that testimony and evidence put Republicans
in...if they fail to act on this, they are supporting an obvious felony
bribery operation conducted by the president of the United States. This is why the hearing was important. It puts the Republicans in a
position where they have to decide if they want to stand behind an openly
exposed criminal act by the president or do the right thing. They did not want the public to see those checks written and signed by
Trump himself, Trump Jr., and Allen Weisselberg the money man at the
Trump organization. This has now implicated all three of them in a series of crimes and
implicated the Trump business in those crimes as well. You can't get around that now.
