...then he violated it.

How did he violate that deal?

Mr. Manafort did not want to tell the truth or discuss in any way what he talked with Russian intelligence operative Konstantin Kilimnik about WHILE HE WAS SERVING as Donald Trump's campaign chair.

So, Mr. Manafort burned himself to the ground to lie about this and avoid discussing it. He is staring at a sentence of 19 to 24 years and paying tens of millions of dollars in restitution because he tossed his cooperation deal in the garbage to avoid discussing what he talked to Russian intelligence about WHILE HE WAS SERVING as Trump's campaign chair.

Make no mistake here, Manafort destroying his cooperation deal over this and choosing instead to DIE IN JAIL to avoid talking about this has to mean whatever he is trying to hide must be pretty damn big.

And the thing is I don't even think he was able to hide it as Rick Gates was also around for some of those chats with Russian intel and the Mueller team was able to prove Manafort was lying.

So, you have to wonder why he would completely destroy himself and end his life for this.

I mean is he literally killing himself here to show loyalty to Trump or is he terrified if he comes clean what the Russians might do to him and his family? Does he think that Trump is going to pardon him?

I mean he must have a pretty goddamned good reason to have done this. This whole thing dwarfs any comparison to Watergate. Nobody agreed to die in jail so they could lie about Watergate.
