Wilma and Betty were real enough to stir something in me, even as a wee lad, Reg, though I never
understood why they would have settled for the likes of Fred and Barney! Guess it was slim pickings around
the quarry. And on a related musical note, here's The Screaming Blue Messiahs (one of the absolutely coolest names
ever for a band) doing their ode to the folks of Bedrock! Once saw this combo in a small, Boston club. Rocked
the joint with ferocity and wild abandon. They're now just a shrinking footnote in the pages of 80s rock
history, but damn, a tough as nails group, and worthy of additional research for those inclined to slashing,
punk-influenced tunes.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGZenzfg3A0Peter T.
