Right now, those of us able to retire with a pension are so lucky. I look to the future and am filled with dread over the thoughts of my children making it in this country economically with the demise of the American pension system. I am lucky because those that came before my generation were able to craft a system that has done well (I am assuming that after my generation, the future one will have such a reduced pension benefit when compared to my own and those of the past). But I think of my kids and how they really need to start saving right way for their own retirement. Hell, watch, I bet in the very near future there will be a push to open retirement accounts for newborns just like the push for college funding plans.
