https://jordanbpeterson.com/podcasts/podcast-episode/episode-49/I can't recall if anyone has mentioned Jordan Peterson before. He's all the rage among young male
conservatives. He's feared by the left, and embraced by those on the "Intellectual Dark Web" (whatever that
means). Although I don't agree with him on everything (he has a far too charitable view on religion and seems
inordinately fixated on archetypes in literature), I do however think he's a provocative voice who should be
heard. He and Sam Harris had an absolutely fruitless conversation when he first appeared on Sam's podcast
but their subsequent one was better. I first learned of Peterson when he spoke out, quite courageously I
believe, against speech codes in parts of Canada. He just had a terrific conversation with Harvard professor
Steven Pinker and I've provided the link above. I'm about halfway through Pinker's ode to enlightenment
values (Enlightenment Now) and the two gents (both are psychologists) touch upon a whole host of
fascinating topics. Time well spent in my opinion. As an aside, I have a lifelong friend who, like me, is liberal on most issues. My friend won't touch a Peterson
podcast with a 10 foot pole owing to Peterson's odd views on lobsters, their social hierarchies and serotonin
levels. Weird theories notwithstanding, his is a voice that you should listen to as his influence has gained a lot
of traction. Similarly, I wish Christians would spend more time with the Sam Harris podcast and Trump
supporters would learn from the folks at Pod Save America and Pod Save The World.Let's exit our information silos and test our most closely held beliefs! Peter T.
