An often heard conservative complaint is that Democrats add to what they (the conservatives that
is) perceive as a bloated, ineffectual government by expanding public sector hiring. Sure looks
like no such thing happened during the Obama presidency. Perhaps I'll also offer up a chart
showing the decreasing
budget deficits. How can perception and reality be so wrong? We all know.
