When you look at the comparison of deaths from gun violence in the US compared to the rest of the planet you have to ask the question: is it worth it? For me it's an unequivocal "no!" But as Peter said, "the cat is out of the bag" and we're pretty much stuck with this shitty normal.

I have a very conservative friend who loves his 2nd amendment right to have a gun in his house. His son was depressed and was due to see a psychiatrist or counselor of some sort in a few days but he never made it that far. He took his dad's gun and ended his life.

Again, is it worth it? What are we really getting for this right? Are there some out there who really think they're going to overthrow the government? It's just gotten so stupid.
