Last weekend I had that ever so rare opportunity to enjoy a concert from the front row. I loved
the closeness to the performer but sitting for a show just isn't my preferred way to experience
such an event. A minor quibble as The Bottle Rockets are so strong, tight, and rocking. After their
set, they served as Marshall Crenshaw's backing band. He was quirky, less than animated, but
certainly has enough songs in his catalog to keep things interesting. The Brox played a heap of
my favorites but this gem stood out.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NM4-DPitl68Their first two records have just been remastered and are available (with a generous heaping of
bonus songs) as a double disc with nifty booklet to seal the deal. Amazon has it for under $15 so treat yourself to a Valentine's Day present.http://www.amazon.com/Bottle-Rockets-The-Brooklyn-Side/dp/B00FCAK33C/ref=pd_sim_m_1Peter T.
