I've always been partial to the Everly's harmonies, arrangements, and
straightforward production. Losing Phil is another lost link to an era where
the music mattered more than anything else.Fortunately, earlier last year we got "Foreverly" from Billie Joe Armstrong and
Norah Jones. What seems like a bizarre partnership works extremely well as
their voices are quite complementary and they use a spare, direct production
rather than glossing up the songs that were originally on Phil & Don's "Songs
Our Daddy Taught Us." It's on Spotify and scattered around on YouTube as well.
