me always associates the term with the view that being "in the black" means finally achieving
profits for the year. A lot of retailers are "in the red" meaning they've not yet achieved
profitability for much of their financial year and they hope to finally make some money with
the pre-Christmas sales that usually begin the day after our Thanksgiving. I know the two
ladies in my household are doing their utmost to aid in this color transformation, much to
my regret! Our local newspaper has featured a guy camped out in front of the Best Buy
(consumer electronics retailer) for 4-5 days, just so he can save a few hundred dollars off of
a big screen TV. The Walking Dead series isn't the only place where you can see hoards of
brain dead folks wandering about aimlessly. Peter T.
