I had never gone to SXSW or any ACL event which is strange because I've been in
Austin 17 years. Gone are the days I have to get to the front of the stage so I
stayed in 1 spot most of the day and saw bands I have never heard of that were
actually quite good. 1. Stars - I would say pretty good, not great.2. Need to Breath - these guys were excellent.3. Tennis - eh....4. Two Door Cinema Club - probably the best band I saw. They were excellent.5. Iggy Pop & the Stooges - Ok I've heard of Iggy. He looked good considering
he is like 65. Said "Fuck" about 700 times (maybe more). I wanted to like him
but eh.. he sucked.Stayed for part of the headliner which was Red Hot Chili Peppers. I think I
would have stayed the whole show if they still had John Frusciante. They were
good but it's like seeing Led Zepplin without Jimmy Page. This next year they are going to have the festival over 2 weekends with the
same lineup for both weekends. I'll go on Friday next year because the crowds
are a lot less and hopefully no mud :)
