I am stunned at both Romney and Obama's performances.

And actually, from the start, I sincerely knew it was going to be a good night for Romney after their first opening questions.

I do not know if the internal apparatus of the Obama campaign has some sort of brilliant strategy that we do not see, but I have never seen a worse debate performance in many, many years.

I think Ed Shultz and Chris Matthews and McCain's campaign chairman Steve Schmidt were dead on in their assessment of this debate (and over time, I have learned that Schmidt actually is a pretty honest pundit).

Lastly, my takeaway from the night was, "why should I fight for this guy when he refuses to fight for us."
