It struck me a unique thing about the collection of people here is how widely intelligent everyone is. A person can come here, post things of a wide variety knowing that those that come here will be able to "get it." Things like inside jokes can be made about a politician or a note about other aspects of culture and the people that come here don't have to be told about it or can figure it out on their own. It's kind of like how when a "family" has a gathering how conversations come and go and flow through the evening and even if someone steps out of the room for a bit, when he or she comes back in and just hears a bit of the conversation, the person can honestly say, "oh, I remember that." And join right back in on the conversation like he or she never left.
