King Crimson...The band I loved to hate. Personally I've always preferred the Wetton/Bruford era but the first incarnation of the Belew/Levin era produced some great music as well. Unfortunately it also produced some of the worst "music" I've ever heard. "Industry" and "Dig Me" are (to me) unlistenable. I stopped paying attention after "Thrak". I almost got back into them when I heard they were touring with Tool two years ago. Thanks to Kazaa, I saved myself a couple of bucks and decided they were still moving in a direction that did not interest me. And to top it all off, Fripp is an even bigger asshole than Lars Ulrik (sp?). The sheer contempt he has for his tiny audience is amazing.
BTW...King Crimson's live 4 cd set "The Great Deceiver" (with Wetton and Bruford) is amazing. I highly recommend it if you don't have it. Those guys were HUGE. They would crush their audiences with their power. Then, at the top of their game; Fripp pulled the plug. The dink.
