What I have never understood is what seems to me to be the utter foolishness, or possibly even arrogance of anyone willing to take that FIRST injection or snort of heroin. On some level, they have to believe that they, unlike the countless other addicts who were tempted before them, have the strength, fortitude, and willpower to not fall prey to its powerful hold. I know the hold that chocolate has on me so there's no way I am going to partake of anything more seductive. Perhaps I am being unfair. I'm sure some people have such desperate, misery-filled lives that they seek it as a possible shelter, but I'm guessing this group is in the minority. I imagine many first-time users are deluded and think they can beat the odds. You must meet these people in your line of work, EEE. What do you think?
