Often times these two words/concepts are intermingled. Or are they actually different? In peoples' minds, are they the same? Or is a songwriter someone who writes songs and a story teller a person who tells stories with the written song? I mention this (with no intent to offend) because when I hear the words "song writer" and "storyteller" I think of higher caliber works. Of course, this is not to claim that writing any song is easy or worth our contempt. So when I hear these phrases, I think of people like John Prine, Merle Haggard and the like.
