It's been a long time coming, but America is finally doing the right thing by abolishing
DADT. I would imagine marriage equality will continue to make incremental, state-by-state
gains, and eventually, in the 22nd century, Mississippi and Alabama will grudgingly come on
board. But for today, raise a toast to all of the gay and lesbian military professionals who no
longer have to choose between serving their nation and being true to themselves. Peter T.
