Frank Turner and band hit the stage in Boston tonight at 7:30 sharp. Such is the fate for the first
of three bands (with Social Distortion headlining). After a few songs, Frank asked for a volunteer
to come up on stage. My hand was immediately raised (being 6'5" surely enhanced my visibility)
and I was selected. It also didn't hurt that I was one of the few patrons going a bit berserk and
singing along. I would say that 90% of the Social Distortion crowd had never heard Frank's music.
Security promptly assisted me to the stage and I delivered what was surely the worst harmonica
solo ever blown at the House of Blues. My daughter captured a minute's worth of crappy footage,
but the memory will linger. And by 8:00, it was over! Peter T.
