I'm not sure what exactly you are looking for David but this is a subject that I have quite a bit of knowledge of and will help if I can.

I have a BS in Agriculture and when I got it in 1984, the losses in family farms at the time (and growth of factory farms) was a huge topic with most of my professors. We would discuss it constantly because it was a trend we didn't like and is still happening. Family farms are now almost a thing of the past...regrettably.

I have a good friend who is the last of a 4 generation family farm (200 acre 200 head dairy farm) that is going through the process of losing his farm now. It has been quite painful to him and it appears that the old farm will become a new subdivision of 1/4 acre tract housing. This was by no means his choice but he felt like he didn't have one.

It is a sad thing to watch.
