Aristotle, her hero, advised moderation in everything. Where's moderation, for example, in the range of CEO/worker pay: 35/1 to 300/1?

For Rand the CEO who makes 300 times his worker would be declared the most virtuous.

She might counter that if the amount the worker earns is the best he can do, then he's just as virtuous.

The decision, then, of pursuing or not a moderate course would be up to the CEO, and, as we've seen, it has been.

Social responsibility, when considerations of the heart are ignored, would seem to be as Adam Smith's invisible hand, a rational choice, but difficult to make when it's every man for himself.

I suspect your 'irrational' pursuit of selfish ends, Mick, contains a moderation Rand's rational pursuit deplores.
