If you want to read a pretty good updating of The Inferno, I recommend finding a copy of Inferno by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle. They're a very good pair of science fiction writers and their Inferno is a fine read.I must confess that I don't see the connection between the Inferno game and 1461 AD Trebizond.
