Triple E:

A couple of years back I purchased an external hard drive, plugged it in, and basically backed everything up without effort.

The drive I use, from Seagate, features a one-button backup so that you don't have to even tell it what to back up--you just turn the thing on & it does the job.

I have junk files that I don't want to back up, though, so I don't use that feature. Instead, I just backup the files I want by opening up "my computer," and dragging & dropping the files I want (like the "my music" file, which probably has all of your Windows Media Player music in it) into the Seagate drive.

I've been very happy with my little Seagate (though it's only like 420 gig or something--nothing like the ones out now). Unlike nearly everything else on my stupid PC (including various purchases and attempts to record sound to PC, which have failed at every turn), my Seagate external hard drive is very easy to use.
