I enjoyed The Kite Runner (but mostly from a morning hospital toilet stall or late hour hallway bench or bedside with beepers beeping and shadows shadowly creeping… so the setting made for an open mind for most anything heavier than reality). I mean, I don’t really think The Kite Runner is meant to be “enjoyed” as much as absorbed…as a lesson…while another flagellates ‘imself into reverence for fuck-ups past and present… & eventual restitution & renewal. I absorbed it, …could even smell the coriander and cumin and turmeric and carbon smoke in the air.
