A similar concept was tried on new years eve 2000 in Denmark by Lars von Trier (off course) and friends. 4 directors instructed 4 intersecting films live on 4 different channels. To get a coherent story out of it you had to switch between the channels or else it became quite boring.
Interesting experiment (Sort of like making a live version of Rashamon), but quite flawed in execution...
