Go the Maker's Mark, and I usually pass on the single malts...never liked 'em. Johnnie Walker? Green Label all the way.

(this is a thread about Irish whiskey, yes? ..Nevertheless)

Now see, that's my later point exactly; I should have left this thread to those who take great pride in the burn & ensuing aridity of the throat n the gut. If you wana drink me under the table, you'll have to do it with a kinder, gentler, whiskey. & Jameson is a perfect example. ...I got nothin' to prove and it is with a shrug and a scratch of the head why there appears to be such egotism involved in the partaking of Maker's Mark and that ilk. I can't speak with regards to you & your 2 ounces of Maker's Mark, Eugene, & more power to you, brother, but...just from my experience, the way it goes down in a pub or a do-it-yourself basement bar when the fancy pants with the Cubanesque cigars get to tippin' the Mark & throwin‘round their weightiness, the room stinks. ...& not from the tobacco.

but...I suppose I've digressed from petrol taste to..uh...pompous taste-o-life.

To each 'is own. (Please do let us know what you settle on, Ed? & why.)
