One of the right-wing radio stations in Seattle (yes, even in Seattle there are two .. I guess it's that competition thing) immediately began assuring their listeners that this was a terrorist attack sponsored by jihadis and 'islamofascists'. A caller who bravely phoned in to suggest they wait for more information was ridiculed. I think the host based it on the fact that the dead shooter had an 'Islamic' sounding name and that two others (I think they've been released) were detained.

I remember in the immediate aftermath of the Oklahoma City courthouse bombing that many pundits pushed the same idea, only to be proved very, very wrong as the Whitest Guy Imaginable was arrested, convicted, and executed for the crime.
