I think Carville views her as a rallying call, and fund raiser for Democrats. I don't think the left fear her as much as they shudder to think that she actually had a small chance to be a heartbeat away from the presidency. I want Palin to do well with the Republican base because she is demonstrably unelectable when it comes to independents. Being somewhat acquainted with your libertarian leanings, Marc, I can't see you behind her candidacy. Surely you cannot possibly see anything of substance in her, or can you? She is more a symptom of how shallow and intellectually barren a fairly large minority of Americans are. Our nation needs a strong, loyal opposition party. I don't see the Republican base as allowing the return of such a group.
