It is huge Pete. The article sums up what cultural tensions his book will explode. He is a legend in 'the holy ground (not just Cobh...but the whole Rebel county)'. We revere him...it's not news to me...my Dad told me about 7 years ago that Donal was gay...I assume it's not something that American sportstars will admit to? Ireland is changing but the homophobia and racism are still quite profound...
BTW Pete just to let you and the rest of the Pats fans know they have by far the biggest fan base of any NFL team in Britain if sunday's game was anything to go by...we were everywhere...the odd Stealer fan...or cowboy or Raider or Giant...but jeez New England is like the Man Utd of NFL over here...
