Glad you both enjoyed that. One of the things he says that I really liked and that I think about quite a bit is that the brain evolved to see the world in a way that was useful and how we see is by continually redefining normality. Think about that for a few seconds and then apply it to life in general. We do continually redefine normality and we do intentionally attempt to see the world in a useful way. What's sort of interesting about us though is we don't all agree on what is normal or what is useful and this changes how we see each other and what's even more amusing, well to me, is our definition of both of these terms (useful, normal) is always in flux. Sort of creates some interesting human conundrums that explain some things about us while leading us to more questions.
Sorry, if I'm boring anybody but I've had my head stuck in the "how we see things" place for a bit and I just thought it would be fun, at least to me, to hear what other people thought about these ideas. Ideas are free after all and like that fortune cookie said, "One man have dollar, another man have dollar, they exchange, each man have one dollar. Man have idea, another man have idea, they exchange, each man now have two ideas." (I think somebody posted that here before!)
That's the kind of shit Mick says when he's drunk I bet and Mick told me I better get used to eating a lot of fortune cookies.
