It’s true, it is a tiny li’l movie..even if. One of my favorites of the recent decade’s worth
o’ films has been The Station Agent. It’s a gentle little page turner…about people I want
as my neighbors. We did accident upon another of Tom McCarthy’s more recent efforts:
The Visitor
This being the dbis that it iz, probably a good flick like this has been severely-mentioned
previously, &…so mine isn’t to eclipse any preceding notable notes, no it is jus to make a
simple noise again… Bit of a peep …or a squeaky wheel gettin’some tender lovin’ grease
in regards to a worthwhile li’l flicker….
(Uncomfortable about the central plot, initially, but life is that way …and so is film so we
rolled wit it n it was worth it. Happy endings come in, oh, I suppose, divergent packages.)
…flick about People (just effin’ people), …good enough people, man ..and the lazy-assed
apathy that brinkmen preside over the battering ram, ...the steamroller, the poisoned pillbox
and the bloodstain that feels nothing, they claim, while laying sum waste to what is inherently
good n plenty in all those who can be bothered to be decent folks, …and the subjugated K
who are not heard when they speak truths, pop, and those who remain behind to continue.
…Even with the weight of oppressor pushing button sand pullin’ string n pissin’-‘way the
soul environment on a plan to put in pavement n the new day’s endeavor sans the djembe.
