The great economic progress in the United States occurred after the colonial empires, after the Civil War, . . . hell, even after World War I. I do see where you're going with your argument, but I just don't think you've made your point. What really drove the US in the 20th Century (and it was a bit of a backwoods before then) was technological advancement helped on by investment allowed by the development of the oil economy. To say that the society's success is "based on" terrorism, slaveryl, and genocide (even though they might have existed) is a distortion.All the best to you, though.
