If we talk Kevin Gilbert I think I would prefer "Goodness Gracious" - A lot of the themes are the same, but it is easier to listen to and not just a long list...

Imogen Heaps "Hide and Seek", also has really interesting lyrics although it is certainly not political.

Other suggestions: Ani DiFranco - Serpentine A large number of songs by The The (I would prefer one of several from the Mind Bomb album) and Im guessing Manic Street Preachers, Pulp, Radiohead, Pink Floyd etc... Del Amitri - Nothing Ever Happens
