I agree, E. It’s an excellent flick for too many reasons.

Although it may be a spoiler for some, I want to submit one particular scene as a perfect example. The tone set here takes me back…to rare times past with my brother … and more so with 3 good friends that I stomped various parts of the planet with in the ‘80s --- the sort of good friend that felt lifelong & deep-to-the-core at the time. The one I admired most is dead…and I haven’t seen the other two in better than a decade. Tides changed.  We were deeper then (maybe).   We had bohemian visions then (maybe).  We had fits & toils & troubles, yes, but we lugged our baggage differently then.  And we drank & raised toasts & picked bones & damn-well challenged what seemed to be the living soul of the time --- or so we believed --- & we grappled in the dirt & grass & drew blood & raised bruises & laughed our asses off & hugged & drank some more until sunup …unless there were girls inside to draw us back in to more immediate reality/fantasy.  Moreover, we asked things of each other then that felt cosmic and invaluable at the time.  Apparently, it wasn’t…so much.  Now life is even heavier yet, but it is an ardent wife & husband dug in and unrelenting a day at a time for our little chunk of change and the capable sons who we’ve burdened with life on this disturbing earth.

Anyway, … two brothers, one a message, the other a bear……..
