Thanx for the poke with a stick, Andrea. Never a bad time to be reminded again just how forked [by it’s own] the [human] race is. But remains a few who try to buy us some time...
Regarding (personal) healthcare:
Some (as per “The Lodge” experience) new friends (from the Catskill & Zen Mountain Buddhist Monestary area) turned us on to a very good book written by a physician (David Servan-Schreiber, MD) to bridge the chasms between hardnosed medical science and the mind-body-nutritional approach to health & wellness. He titled it, aptly, Anticancer ~ A New Way of Life. Inside is a well-written/researched philosophy (person-to-person more than Dr.-to-Dr. text) on the importance of grass-fed meat, poultry and dairy … oh, and other stuff like the flagrantly [industry] obscured balance between omega-6 & omega-3 fatty acids. But this is just a nibble, there is so much (that in the past one may have been called paranoid about) that REALLY is going down in our environment/consumption … and this outstanding little guidebook offers a useful roadmap through the muck. Highly recommended reading.
