Euthanasia....it's not a coward way out...

One thing that really pisses me off about America and Western thought is its fear of euthanasia.I do not think I am unlike any other middle aged person in life when it comes to watching those we love pass on. I don't think I've had more than my fair share of loved ones in contrast to any other middle aged person. And with this, it pisses me off to no end that in this so called age of advancement, that we don't have access to a simple pill or assistance that allows our loved ones to exit this world in peace and dignity when they want to. Don't get me wrong - I'm not advocating giving a lovelorn teen a pill to end it all out of spite, but that of a way to allow someone who knows it's time, to exit painlessly and peacefully. To be blunt, I'm talking about a loved one dying of an incurable disease or near the end when this person knows how they want things to end. A person that is in indescribable pain forced to live in their own urine and feces because those of us who are not ready to let go keep hanging on. Think of it...we treat our family pets better than we do our loved ones. I hope this does not offend anyone. I do not mean to do that. Especially you, MB.
