And that is precisely the problem with Milk - If you've seen that documentary you mention (also an oscar winner BTW), then you can see that Sean Penn pretty much took the whole character from there. Where as something as Langella's Nixon is an entirely different creature and a new take on Nixon. More interesting in my opinion than just mimicking the actual figure. Not that Frost/Nixon should have won - I just think the Milk movie is pointless if you have seen the documentary... At least Slumdog has a rather fascinating way of telling the story with its fast paced photography and odd camera angles that are somewhat unusual for an Oscar winner... (Yey for Anthony Dod Mantle, who learned his chops in the danish Dogme Cinema ;-) ) Personally I would have preferred "Revolutionary Road" or Wall*E as best picture but thats just me ;-)
