i've played in bands with 2 of Peter Getty's 4 kids, and it was at times enlightening and always interesting. money's fun but it brings with it its own whole new set of problems.

there seems to be a bit of a divide in this country between the 'every man for himself' and the 'brother's keeper' crowds. coming from a compassionate place, we as a society have left natural selection behind. now what?

tax all folks' gross income the same percentage, no deductions. as for helping the needy, preference goes to the disabled, the retarded, the sick, the phenomenally unlucky/truly needy. drug treatment is a key component here as well. help/try to save those who wish to save themselves. the rest may not be able to be reached, but they won't be allowed to suck suck suck off the system their whole lives, either; tough love' is appropriate for some cases.
